Positive Youth Development
Position Purpose:
The purpose of this role is to research and study new trends impacting youth and young adults from an Islamic perspective. This is accomplished through,
Research and analysis of literature reviews
Surveys and research methods
Contribution to the field and domain
Role Qualifications:
Possess excellent research methods knowledge and analytical skills
Experience in expressing thoughts, ideas and research findings
Strong understanding of Islam and Islamic sciences
Good understanding of youth and human development
Eagerness to learn and develop world-class cutting-edge research based on Islamic principles and perspectives
Excellent knowledge of English. Arabic is recommended, Urdu and Hindi are a plus.
Responsibilities:
Conduct research on the needs of youth in the areas of gender identity, suicide, atheism, substance abuse, crisis stabilization, leadership development and personal growth and professional development.
Contribute to the body of knowledge through producing literature and research papers in the areas of gender identity, suicide, atheism, substance abuse, crisis stabilization, leadership development and personal growth and professional development to be published in an ILIA quarterly academic journal, and other research publications.
Develop content suitable for the general public, youth ages 9-24, parents, school teachers and administrators, public servants and nonprofits on tips and best practices to address positive youth development needs in the areas of crisis stabilization, leadership development and personal growth and professional development from the Islamic and medical perspectives to be published on ILIA’s social media and websites.
